Pooch Paddle

An opportunity to get pups on SUPS whilst raising money for SPCA

Join this community event fundraiser, a great way to end the April School Holidays!

The Pooch Paddle on the Maitai River is a family-friendly event for all ages to enjoy the river with their beloved pooch friends!

All registered paddlers must be present at the Safety Briefing at 10am. The paddle will start at 10.30am, following the river from the Port end of town right up through the heart of Nelson.

Paddling under bridges and turning the heads of locals and visitors strolling along the scenic Maitai River walkway, this event is perfect for those who want a cruisy little trip with their pooch on a sheltered, easy to access waterway without waves, minutes from the CBD.

A Team Moana member will be within proximity to you on the water. This is not a guided trip and you will be given all the freedom you want to explore at your own pace.

We ask that you are comfortable in the water before choosing to come along to this event. If you are renting gear from us, all equipment that you need for a great time will be provided (paddleboard, leash, buoyancy aid and paddle). Please arrive 30 minutes early to kit up, sign in and be briefed.

Also, if there is a group of you, this is a great location for our BIG TĀHUNA Giant Stand Up Paddleboard.
