Kiwi Journeys and Moana Paddle Nelson bring you the “Peddle & Paddle” tour.
Check-in at the Kiwi Journeys depot (right beside the i-SITE) in the centre of Nelson at 8:30 am. Your adventure begins with a short 20-minute ride around the waterfront to the Moana Paddle Nelson base at Tahunanui Beach.
Time to gear up and get out there!!
The Nelson Lighthouse Sea Kayak Adventure is an awesome trip for any paddler. Take in the sights of Nelson on this 3-hour guided tour of Nelson’s beautiful waterfront. Visit the iconic Fifeshire Rock, say hi to the marine life around Haulashore Island, and get the ultimate Nelson selfie from the TOP of the historic Boulder Bank Lighthouse, the views are spectacular. There is even time for a cuppa and a cookie before heading back to the beach. This is a fully guided, family-friendly trip for all abilities, so come and join us on this great paddle in our awesome little town and see a side of Nelson not many get to experience.
After farewells at the beach, the day is yours! Your Kiwi Journeys Great Taste Trail map will guide you to all the great food, beverage and activity stop including the World of Wearable Art and Classic Car Museum, and Pics Peanut Butter World to name a few.
For the even more adventurous, there is plenty of time to ride to Mapua and experience the amazing coastal route including boardwalks, farmland, swing bridge, wineries, Rabbit Island and the Iconic Mapua Ferry crossing to Mapua Wharf. Here you can enjoy the buzzing atmosphere of galleries, studios, restaurants, cafes, shops, a wine bar and the Golden Bear Boutique Brewery before the shuttle returns to Nelson at 5:30 pm.
